The objective of this development was to combine effective microclimate management with advanced pressure redistribution and individualized positioning possibilities to support an upright and functional sitting posture.

A healthy microclimate at the user–support interface is considered an important factor in maintaining skin integrity. Elevated temperature and moisture can negatively affect skin tolerance and may contribute to the development of skin damage and pressure injuries. In addition, adequate pressure redistribution and postural support are essential for comfort, stability, and functional sitting performance.
Vicair® SmartCell technology
The unique Vicair technology is based on what we call ‘SmartCells’. When people see SmartCells they often ask “What’s inside the triangles?”. The answer to that is really quite simple and short: “air”.
To be precise however, the SmartCells aren’t ‘triangles’: the shape is officially called a tetrahedron – not quite a triangle, also not really a pyramid but a combination of those two. Vicair is all about packaging air in a unique way, in each of our cushions you will find hundreds of these small packages of air, hundreds of SmartCells.

Respira Back Technology
Respira shells are laser cut with perforations strategically placed for maximum heat and moisture dissipation. The Space Grey anodizing reduces heat retention by 22% compared with black back supports in direct sunlight. The perforations also reduce weight, resulting in a durable aluminium shell that is almost as light as carbon fibre.
Our mounting hardware utilizes a unique ball joint mechanism which enhances and expands positioning adjustment.
